Project at a glance

Impact Hub Hamburg, a local co-working space for change makers, brought me on board to build their first independent website. They needed a clear way to show their different offers for individuals and corporates—to save them time explaining it one-on-one.

Together, we created a site that speaks to both target groups, with a simple structure and clear paths. It reflects their values of sustainability and inclusion, feels like them, and makes it easier for the right people to say yes.

Before: Where we started

Impact Hub Hamburg’s mission is to connect individuals from the impact scene with established companies as “partners in change” for a positive future.

The main challenge was to find a way to communicate the different offerings to the two target groups:

  • corporate memberships and consulting services for corporates
  • community memberships and co-working packages for individuals

Prior to the redesign, Impact Hub Hamburg faced a few other issues:

  1. No standalone website: They only had a one-pager on their sister company’s website, along with a Linktree and some social media accounts. There was no central, branded place to direct people.
  2. Unclear communication: Without clear service pages, visitors often didn’t understand how to book a co-working spot or become a member—leading to missed opportunities.
  3. Manual processes: Staff had to answer the same questions over and over again, which took up valuable time they could have spent on community-building.
  4. Limited visibility: The lack of a full website made it hard to explain their dual mission to both individuals and corporate partners, or to build trust with new audiences.

The Process: Combining clarity and a professional visual identity

Clear structure for different target groups

To speak clearly to both individuals and companies, we restructured the site to reflect Impact Hub Hamburg’s two key audiences.

  • The main navigation is split into “offers for corporates” and “offers for the community,” making it easier for each visitor to find the content that’s relevant to them.
  • The homepage hero section explains the “partners in change” metaphor and links to the different sections for individuals and corporates.
  • On each subpage, we included audience-specific testimonials—corporate pages highlight respected local partners, while community pages feature real voices from Impact Hub’s members.

This setup helps each group feel seen and supported.

A local take on the global brand

Impact Hub Hamburg works within a global network, which meant using shared brand guidelines—but they needed a local twist. The global template felt too playful for their corporate-facing work and created performance issues with heavy animations and oversized visuals.

Comparing page speeds: The Hamburg site loads 90% faster than the global one and is accessible
  • We kept the core elements—logo, fonts, authentic photography, but optimized image sizes and placements for faster loading times.
  • We removed decorative shapes and playful accent colors, choosing Deep Blue as the main accent for better contrast and Hanseatic understatement.
  • I created custom dark theme with Deep Blue and Teal to address the lack of a dark mode in the brand guidelines.

Finally, the brand felt more like them—while being more sustainable and inclusive to boot.

  • I was really impressed by your ability to quickly grasp, internalize, and visually translate our values and goals. This made the design process so much easier for us.

Results and impact: What the new site achieves

The results go beyond a beautiful design—this site changed how Impact Hub Hamburg works and connects with people. Here’s what the new site makes possible:

  • Better visibility in search: With individual service pages and a solid SEO foundation, the site now shows up in relevant searches. This helps more people discover what Impact Hub Hamburg offers—without relying on social media or word of mouth alone.
  • Improved client journey: Visitors now land on a homepage that immediately speaks to who they are and what they’re looking for. Whether they’re individuals seeking co-working or corporates exploring partnerships, they’re guided toward the right next step—without confusion.
  • More efficient operations: The new site drastically cut down on repetitive inquiries by providing clearly structured service pages and FAQs. Staff no longer need to explain the same details over and over, which frees up their time for deeper community engagement.
  • Value-aligned design: The website is both sustainable and accessible, making it easier for the team to stand behind their online presence. It reflects their commitment to inclusion and sustainability in a way that feels modern and grounded, not gimmicky.
  • Stronger credibility: Having a full, well-structured website helps position Impact Hub Hamburg as a serious partner for both community members and corporate changemakers. The site now builds trust from the first click.
