Before: The SEO-optimized website

Orgaplan Logistik GmbH is a logistics consultancy based in Hamburg. They’ve been in the market for over 35 years, completing over 1,100 projects with companies across various industries. Along with referrals, SEO is the second most acquisition channel.

Where are the leads?

The site was created and maintained years ago by an SEO specialist, so it ranked well for relevant keywords. Despite good traffic, it was no longer able to motivate visitors to contact the company.

Can we save some maintenance costs?

Due to the custom theme, Orgaplan could no longer make its own adjustments and had to spend large amounts on maintenance regularly.

Can we get something modern?

The website was no longer up-to-date both technically and in terms of design, and showed a need for optimization in the areas of security, performance, and SEO.

Our strategy: How to get more leads?

In a strategy workshop with all three managing directors, we discussed optimization potential, a competitor analysis, and a strategy for increasing contact inquiries, which we then implemented:

  • Simplify orientation: To help visitors navigate the extensive service portfolio, we simplified the navigation and created additional topic pages that highlight the problems the services solve.
  • Easy appointment booking: To reduce the effort required for phone calls and emails to schedule appointments, we integrated the consultants’ calendars so that interested parties can book a free initial consultation on their own.
  • Maintain SEO rankings: Since Orgaplan had worked hard to achieve its good SEO rankings, I placed particular emphasis on SEO optimization and migration during the relaunch.

After: A modern take on the established brand

The new design helps Orgaplan to appear professional and modern at the same time:

  • Logo Redesign: The updated logo is clear and modern and easily recognizable even at low resolutions.
  • Brand Refresh: The new color scheme matches the brand and is optimized for light and dark modes. The typography focuses on accessibility and performance. It strikes a balance between professionalism and proximity – both extremely important for management consulting.
  • Mobile Optimization: All pages are responsive, ensuring content and design are displayed optimally on all devices.

What I’d do differently next time: In this project, there was no copywriter involved. While I know how to create conversion-oriented copy, I needed the clients’ knowledge about logistics projects. This turned out to be a blocker. Next time, I’d make sure that the brand strategy mission, and copy are in place before starting to layout the site.

Quick launch & lasting freedom

The new website needed to go live quickly to avoid losing more leads. After Orgaplan created the content for the new and optimized sales pages, I brought the new website online in less than a month.

Employees can now make changes independently. Technical and security updates run in the background—for a price that’s lower than the hosting costs of the old website. No more paying a web designer for security updates.

  • Thanks to Stefanie’s excellent project management, we successfully completed the project in just 9 weeks and even went live earlier than planned!
